NUDGIS - 12.1.0

 

This document contains the functional enhancements of Nudgis 12.1.0. Please refer to the full release note that you have received by email to see all the changes.

 

1. New feature - BigBlueButton integration

This integration allows you to import your BigBlueButton recordings as MP4 videos into a dedicated channel on your Nudgis platform. It is optimised to work in conjunction with the official BBB Moodle plugin, so your recordings can automatically be imported into channels which titles refer to the related Moodle courses.

Technical details

This section briefly presents the integration settings, as well as some advice on the strategy to adopt to import your BBB content into your Nudgis platform.

IMPORTANT - If BBB is already integrated to your Moodle, you just need to connect your Nudgis platform to the same BBB for your media to be imported.

If you are administrator of your Nudgis platform and you would like to enable this integration, please follow the path below:

Navigation menu > Administration > Site settings > Integration settings > BigBlueButton

 

 

You can then configure the import settings of your BBB media to Nudgis:

 

 

 

Once BBB has been connected to your Nudgis, each import will automatically create channels on your Nudgis platform. If you are using BBB through your Moodle, the titles of these channels will correspond to the course names of the imported recordings. Indeed, the import of BBB recordings takes into account the names of the related courses as well as their IDs. By default, Nudgis administrators are the only ones who can access these channels.

 

NB 1 - A massive import of your BBB recordings all at once would lead to severe performance and capacity issues on your Nudgis platform. Thus, we strongly recommend you to proceed by steps for the importation of your recordings. You can start by importing all your records created from last month, then add the ones created the month before, and so on.

 

 

NB 2 - You can configure the delay between each import task of your BBB recordings. The default value is 24h, the minimum you can set is 1h.

 

NB 3 - It is possible to access the native replay of a BBB recording by clicking on the link in description of the imported media (cf. screenshot below). This will open a new window.

 

 

 

2. UI BETA enhancements

2.1. New footer

The footer has been updated, in line with the new interface:

 

 

2.2. Breadcrumb reworked

The breadcrumb trail has been reworked in order to facilitate the navigation, especially in the case of a deep exploration through channels and sub-channels.

 

 

2.3. Categories added to the drop-down menu

It is now possible to access categories directly in the drop-down menu on the left of the screen.

 

 

2.4. Ongoing Live streams added to the side bar

If Live streams are currently in progress on your Nudgis platform, a flashing red dot will appear in the sidebar on the left of your screen. Clicking on it will lead you to all these current Lives.

 

 

2.5. Red flashing dot added on each ongoing Live streaming

We added a flashing red dot to each ongoing Live streaming. This indicates if a Live is in progress.

 

 

2.6. Possibility to filter Live streams depending on their statuses

It is now possible to filter Live streams by statuses.

 

 

 

2.7. Icons for media and channels statuses

Media and channel statuses (not ready, not listed and not published) are now displayed as icons in the navigation. This is only visible by users who have edition permissions on these media or channels.

 

The padlock means that the media is not published.

The clock means the media is not ready yet.

The eye means that the media is unlisted.
