Welcome to this article where we'll look at how to integrate Nudgis video content into an H5P activity.
Let's start by defining what H5P is: H5P (HTML5 Package) is a plugin that lets you enrich a video and make it interactive by adding an HTML5 overlay. The plugin is available for most LMSs (Moodle, Brightspace, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.).

PREPARATION
To work with Nudgis, you need to provide the H5P plugin with a direct link to a video resource. These can be found in the 'Community' tab of the video editing page and are located in the box entitled 'Download links'. Right-click on the link to the MP4 resource with the best quality and choose ‘Copy link address’:
For the H5P video to work properly, it is absolutely essential to use the procedure described above to retrieve the link, and not any other method. Any other procedure may result in the link expiring within a few hours. In addition, using download links means that the Nudgis RichMedia player will not be used for playback in the LMS. As a result, certain functionalities will not be available, such as adaptive playback (only one video quality will be available), the side panel (and more generally the functionalities of the UbiCast player) and statistics
On the video editing page, go to the Permissions tab and change the Access permissions to Yes for the "Unauthenticated users" group.
Opening permissions is not necessary if your Nudgis is hosted in the Cloud
INTEGRATING A VIDEO INTO A H5P ACTIVITY
For this example we're going to use the Moodle LMS and its H5P plugin.
Let's start by going to the Moodle course where you want to add your H5P activity. Click on "Add an activity or resource" and select "H5P".
This will take you to the next page, where you need to click on 'Use the content bank (opens in new window) to manage your H5P files'.
This will open the link in a new window (or tab), click on Add and then select "Interactive video".
You will be redirected to a new page. On this page, click on the add video button.
In the box that appears, enter the download link retrieved from Nudgis, then click Insert.
Make sure that the construction of the embedded link is similar to the one shown in the screenshot above
Save your changes and you will be redirected to the page containing the content you have just added.
Go back to the activity page you added to your course and click on the "Add..." icon.
In the "Content bank" menu, you can then select your H5P package. Don't forget to save your changes once you've finished.
And that's it! You've just added a Nudgis resource to an H5P activity!
AUTHENTICATION TIP
As we saw in the first chapter, it is necessary to make the media public so that all viewers accessing the H5P activity in Moodle can launch the video. But this means making your media accessible to everyone on the Nudgis side, which can be problematic. To get around this, there's a trick based on the UbiCast 'Block' plugin. To enable automatic authentication on the Moodle H5P page, simply create a ‘Nudgis media list’ block on the sidebar:
Once the block has been created, click on the cogwheel, then on ‘Configure the Nudgis media list block’ :
In the pop-up window, select the ‘Nudgis channel ID’ field, and type manager , then change the ‘Block height’ to 1 pixel to make it almost invisible, and finally, save changes :
Any Moodle user accessing the page will automatically be authenticated on Nudgis. If they have the right to access the content, the video will start, and if not, playback will not be possible.
This block can be used on any Moodle page as required
