Welcome to this article where we'll look at how to integrate Nudgis video content into an H5P activity.
Let's start by defining what H5P is: H5P (HTML5 Package) is a plugin that lets you enrich a video and make it interactive by adding an HTML5 overlay. The plugin is available for most LMSs (Moodle, Brightspace, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.).
To work with Nudgis, you need to provide the H5P plugin with a direct link to a video resource. These can be found in the Community tab of the video editing page and are located in the box entitled 'Download links'.
Using download links means that the Nudgis RichMedia player will not be used for playback in the LMS. As a result, certain functionalities will not be available, such as adaptive playback (only one video quality will be available), the side panel (and more generally the functionalities of the UbiCast player) and statistics.

NUDGIS CONFIGURATION
On the Nudgis side, we need to differentiate between two scenarios, which are distinguished by whether or not resource URL protection is activated. This option can be found in the following menu: "Menu > Administration > Player settings > Controls and resources settings" and is called "Resources secret key".
In order to be compatible with the use of CDNs, resources protection is deactivated on the UbiCloud service. It is enabled by default for on-premises deployments.
Case where resources protection is disabled :
In this case, no special configuration is required: you can use the download links directly to integrate them into the H5P activity.
To deactivate resource protection, simply edit the "Resource secret key" field and delete its contents (remember to save your changes afterwards).
Case where resources protection is enabled :
If asset protection is enabled, you will need to modify the permissions of the videos you want to embed to make them accessible to unauthenticated users.
On the video editing page, go to the Permissions tab and change the Access permissions to Yes for the "Unauthenticated users" group.
INTEGRATING A VIDEO INTO A H5P ACTIVITY
For this example we're going to use the Moodle LMS and its H5P plugin.
Let's start by going to the Moodle course where you want to add your H5P activity. Click on "Add an activity or resource" and select "H5P".
This will take you to the next page, where you need to click on 'Use the content bank (opens in new window) to manage your H5P files'.
This will open the link in a new window (or tab), click on Add and then select "Interactive video".
You will be redirected to a new page. On this page, click on the add video button.
In the box that appears, enter the download link retrieved from Nudgis, then click Insert.
Save your changes and you will be redirected to the page containing the content you have just added.
Go back to the activity page you added to your course and click on the "Add..." icon.
In the "Content bank" menu, you can then select your H5P package. Don't forget to save your changes once you've finished.
And that's it! You've just added a Nudgis resource to an H5P activity!
Thank you for following this article on using H5P and Nudgis. Don't hesitate to visit the Nudgis section of our documentation to learn more about the solution's features!
