NUDGIS - 12.2.0
This document contains the functional enhancements of Nudgis 12.2.0. Please refer to the full release note that you have received by email to see all the changes.
1. BETA UI enhancements
1.1. Introduction of a storage progress bar in the "Add content" menu
From now on, a user of your platform can have a quick and intuitive overview of the storage used by all their media as well as that of their personal channel. The goal is to make it easier to control for your users, in order to optimise it.
Access to media and personal channels is also possible directly through the shortcut buttons in this content addition menu (by clicking on "My Media" or "My channel").
NB - This only applies to users who have their own media/ personal channel.
1.2. Standardisation of the user account panel
The user account panel has been streamlined to only retain essential information for login and profile management.
1.3. Sidebar enhancements
The sidebar has been subdivided into several sections to arrange elements more systematically, categorising them by type.
Additional buttons have been added to the sidebar. It is no longer necessary to open the navigation menu to access them: "Live," "My Channel," "My Statistics," "Trash," "Statistics."
1.4. Redesign of appearance settings
1.4.1. Complete overhaul of the graphic customisation page
Nudgis version 12.2.0 now introduces the ability to customise the appearance of the new user interface (currently in beta).
To prepare the final version scheduled for release this summer, which will permanently replace the old design, we have prepared a new graphical customisation guide. This enables you to work proactively on your platform with confidence, whether to implement your first customisation or to switch to the new UI.
To simplify your experience on our interface, we have notably reduced the number of color choices. This lightens the interface for a smoother navigation and a more intuitive use.
Home > Administration > Customize appearance
NB1 - Any changes made on this page (colors, size of the logo, fonts and player colors), once saved, will be immediately applied to the new UI.
NB2 - Before saving, changes are dynamically applied in the settings page to provide you with a preview.
NB3 - Any changes applied in the "Advanced (CSS)" sub-tab will not only affect the new UI, but also the old one.
NB4- Since version 12.2.0, it is no longer possible to customize the former UI.
Please refer to our detailed article on how to customize the new UI.
1.4.2. Accessibility Score Panel
In order to better meet the accessibility criteria of your platform, a new panel now indicates the accessibility score for each chosen color.
As a reminder, this only applies to the customisation of the new UI.
1.5. Possibility to activate the new UI by default for everyone
You now have the option to enforce the new interface for all users by accessing the global settings.
To do so, please refer to the article explaining how to customize the new UI.
1.6. Language of a media visible on its icon
A flag now appears on your media (VOD and Live). This indicates the language of the video (if set in the metadata).
IMPORTANT : YOUR FEEDBACK MATTERS Your experience is crucial to us, and we always value your feedback on this new UI. You can send us your input by mail, at support@ubicast.eu. Enhancements may be implemented in the coming months based on your feedback. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to pay a special attention to upcoming communications on this matter. |
2. WebStudio Enhancements
2.1. Adaptation to the theme of the platform
The WebStudio theme now aligns with the one set in the platform settings. You can choose between a "light" or "dark" theme.
2.2. Possibility to choose audio and video sources
Before initiating a recording and/ or a Live broadcast with the WebStudio, users now have the option to choose the video source (e.g., webcam) and audio input (e.g., microphone).
2.3. Use of an Existing Live Page
It is now possible to prepare a Live page in advance to launch a session via the WebStudio.
Previously, Live WebStudio sessions were sent to the speaker's personal channel. You can now manage the settings of your Live page beforehand (preparation message, associated permissions, background, etc.).
2.4. Live button grayed out
The "Record and live stream" button will now be grayed out if the functionality is not available.
2.5. Compatibility with Safari
WebStudio now functions on Safari (feature in beta).
The ability to capture both screen and camera simultaneously is not available with Safari.
3. Notification when a new video is added to a channel
It is now possible to subscribe to channels or sub-channels, in order to receive an email notification whenever a new media is uploaded in them.
NB1 - If a user subscribes to a channel, they will also be subscribed to its sub-channels.
NB2 - Shared accounts, as well as accounts without any email address, cannot subscribe to any channel or sub-channel.
NB3 - Users that have subscribed to a channel will not receive any notification if they do not have the permission to access the added media.
