LTI | Technical requirements for integrating Nudgis

Since the Nudgis video platform is an external tool to your learning environment, integrating it into your LMS platform requires checking certain technical prerequisites. Two major constraints determine the choice and proper functioning of the desired integration type.

1/ Domain name alignment between LMS and Nudgis

Scope: Required for LTI 1.3, LTI 1.0/1.1, and UbiCast plugins.

Technical background

Due to constraints from the CORS security mechanism (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) implemented in modern web browsers, the second-level domain must be identical between your LMS and your Nudgis platform. This configuration is essential to ensure the display and accessibility of Nudgis content embedded in your LMS.

Implementation

Please contact your IT department to assign Nudgis a subdomain shared with your LMS, following this model:

• Your LMS URL: https://lms.your-domain.eu
• Your Nudgis instance URL: https://nudgis.your-domain.eu

Once feasibility is confirmed, provide this domain name to your UbiCast contact to configure DNS resolution for your Nudgis instance (On-Premise or Cloud).

2/ Authorizing bidirectional HTTPS network traffic (Port 443) between the Nudgis platform and the LMS server

Scope: Mandatory for LTI 1.3 (not required for LTI 1.0/1.1 and UbiCast plugins).

Technical background

The LTI 1.3 standard relies on the OAuth 2.0 authentication protocol. It requires real-time verification requests between both services (Nudgis and the LMS), which must therefore be able to communicate directly in both directions. In addition to opening network traffic, the respective domains must be registered and authorized on both sides.

Implementation

Your LMS server administrator must allow inbound and outbound HTTPS traffic (port 443) to your Nudgis instance (On-Premise or Cloud). 

Meeting these prerequisites ensures seamless integration of Nudgis content and features within your LMS environment.
