Welcome to this article, in which we'll take a look, from an administrator's perspective, at how to set up podcasts on various platforms from your Nudgis, including Apple Podcasts, YouTube Music Podcasts and Deezer.
Let's start by setting up on the Nudgis side. We need to activate the RSS feeds by accessing the administration menu, then selecting the site settings section, and finally clicking on the "Channels and media browsing settings" tab. Once the page is displayed, make sure the following options are correctly checked:
- For the catalog:
- RSS links (channels pages only)
- RSS links for podcast applications (channels pages only)
- For media:
- RSS links
Next, make sure that the sender's email address is filled in on your Nudgis platform. You can find this information in the administration menu, under the site settings section, then by selecting the "Global Settings" tab :
Make sure to provide an email address that you can access. Depending on the podcast platforms, a confirmation email with a link to click will be sent to you
The last item to check on your platform concerns permissions. Indeed, the channel that will be used for the podcast should allow access to non-authenticated users. To do this, in the channel editing section, go to the "Permissions" tab and enable access to the channel and media for non-authenticated users :
Now that your Nudgis platform is correctly configured for podcasting, you will need to retrieve the URL of the RSS feed you are interested in from Nudgis, as podcast platforms will ask you to provide one. To do this, you will need to access the channel you have created for the podcast on your Nudgis. Once displayed, click on the bell icon, then copy the feed dedicated to the podcast :
You now have everything you need to configure the podcast platform you've chosen.
Setting up third-party podcast platforms
Many multimedia applications offer the option of integrating podcasts into their libraries, but we'll only look at a few of the most common ones here.
- Apple Podcasts
Open the Apple Podcasts application, then in the File menu, select "Follow a Show by URL…" :

- Youtube Music Podcasts
Sign in to YouTube Music and authenticate yourself. In the left sidebar menu, go to your library, then select the "Podcasts" tab :
Click on "Add podcast" :
Paste the URL of the RSS feed you copied earlier, then click on "Add" :
In your library, the podcast will appear. You can then follow it and be notified when new media is available.
- Deezer
With Deezer, it is necessary to follow a creation process to integrate your podcast into their catalog, making it easier for your listeners to find your podcast.
First of all, log in to the Deezer podcast creator website.
Start the process by clicking on "Publish my podcast" :
Paste the URL of the RSS feed you copied earlier, then click on "Next" :
Enter the code received by email at the sender's address from the Nudgis platform :
If you have not received your code, please check that the email has not been filed in your spam folder
Fill out the form and press "Submit".
Deezer will inform you of the successful creation of your podcast in their catalog and provide you with the direct link so you can share it with your listeners :
