There may be times when you need to replace a video resource in a Nudgis media, for example if you have changed your graphic identity or logo, or simply to correct an error you noticed after uploading. Rather than creating a new video and losing the enhancements you've made to the original video (chapters, comments, attachments, etc.), Nudgis allows you to easily replace the video resource and keep the rest. In this article, we'll look at the steps you need to take to achieve this.
To get started, go to the "Resources" tab on the video's editing page :
Note that the first step in this operation is to delete the existing assets. If you're not sure, we strongly advise you to download a copy of the existing video.
To delete existing resources, scroll down to the resource list and click on the "Toggle delete on all resources" button :
You'll notice that the deletion boxes are automatically checked, and the resources about to be deleted are framed in red. Click on "Save changes" to confirm the deletion.
Now that the video has no more resources, you need to add the new version of the file. To do this, click on "Add a file" in the "Managers" frame:
In the window that appears, click on "Browse..." and select the new video on your machine, then click on "Submit" :
Wait for the upload to finish, then click on "Restart transcoding" :
When the transcoding task is complete, a window appears prompting you to reload the page :
Your video resources have been replaced.
