Welcome to this article, which will tell you everything you need to know about using the Nudgis OBS plugin! It lets you easily interface Open Broadcaster Software with your Nudgis platform.
The plugin offers two functions: live broadcasting and uploading recordings to Nudgis. In this section, we will first explain how to install and configure the plugin, and then go on to explain how to use it, i.e. how to create and publish a recording, and how to create a live broadcast.

Installation and configuration
First of all, download the UbiCast OBS plugin and install it following the instructions in this tutorial for the Windows or MacOS platform.
The plugin is compatible with Open Broadcaster Software version 30.0.0 or higher
Once the plugin has been installed, you will need to fill in the information required for it to work properly in the “Tools > Nudgis Plugin Settings” menu. These are divided into three parts:
- Nudgis configuration
- Live broadcast configuration
- Recording upload configuration.
To complete the first point, enter your Nudgis server address and API key:
You can find your API key on your Nudgis user profile page via My Profile > Display my API key:
For the second point, you will need to set two parameters below to broadcast live:
First, select the destination Nudgis channel, i.e. the one where your livestream page is located. Use the “parent channel of the live page” field to select the right page.
To perform a live broadcast in your personal channel, please use the 'Personal channel' value. Alternatively, you can target another parent channel using the channel ID with the prefix 'mscid-'. For example, for the channel 'Live 2024', the channel ID is 'c1268c614b1047bitai0':
The channel ID can also be found in the channel permanent link.
In our example, the identifier for the parent channel is 'mscid-c1268c614b1047bitai0':
Then, fill the “Live title” field: if a live page with the same title already exists in the targeted channel, it will be reused. On the other hand, if you leave the title blank, the default value for the Nudgis platform will be used, typically 'Live'.
To find out more about creating a live streaming page on Nudgis, please see the article ‘Live streaming on Nudgis using third-party encoders such as OBS’
The last point is about the settings for the upload publication target:
You can define a publication channel in the 'Channel to upload into' field. The rules are the same as for the live broadcasting section described in the second point. Next, you can configure the behavior adopted when the recording is stopped, for automatic upload and deletion of the media in OBS. By default, this is set to “Ask”, i.e. you will be given the choice at the end of the recording to publish/delete it.
You can also choose 'Never', in which case it will deactivate the feature, or 'Yes' to activate it automatically.
Finally, click on the “Save” button to validate your changes.
The Test button allows you to validate that the configuration is correct, and if you need to return to the default settings, please click on the 'Restore defaults' button.
Any manual modification of the live streaming service in the OBS settings will disable the plugin
Also make sure to not perform any changes to the “Stream” settings (via the File > Settings > Stream menu) when using the OBS plug-in:
Configuration is now complete! You can now start recording.
Usage
After setting up your scenes and audio/video sources, as you normally do to start recording, click on the 'Start recording' button. Then, at the end of your recording, thanks to the Nudgis OBS plugin, you will be asked to send the recording file to Nudgis in the channel configured for export:
You will then be asked if you want to delete the recording from OBS:
For live broadcasting, no change in your habit, just use OBS as you usually do. For more information, here is a demonstration of the Nudgis OBS plugin in action:
Thanks to the Nudgis OBS plug-in, you can be autonomous in the production of your recordings, live broadcasts and publishing to Nudgis with OBS Studio!
