Welcome to this article, in which we look at how to manage audio tracks in Nudgis media.
To be able to manage audio tracks, a user must have the Audio Tracks editing permission.
Table of Contents
Overview
When a media is added to Nudgis, its audio tracks are automatically extracted. You can view them in the Audio Tracks tab of the media editing page. If metadata such as track title or language is available, it is also extracted for use in Nudgis.
When several tracks are available, you can select which one will be played via the Subtitles and audio button on the UbiCast player:
Adding and deleting tracks
To add an audio track, click on the corresponding button in the Audio tracks tab of the media editing page and fill in the form.
The file must have a duration similar to that of the media to which it is added, with a tolerance of plus or minus 10%. Supported formats are MP3, AAC and OGG. You can add up to 14 tracks per media.
To delete an audio track, tick the corresponding box and save the changes.
Editing metadata
You can edit audio track metadata at any time via the Audio tracks tab on the media editing page.
Metadata can be :
- Title: this will be displayed in the player when the track to be used is selected.
- Language: A list of suggested languages is available, but it is also possible to search for additional languages via the dedicated search field in the drop-down menu. The language can be set to undetermined, which is equivalent to “Undefined” according to the ISO 639 standard.
- Audio description label: This checkbox indicates that the track contains an audio description. It is an accessibility parameter that enables this track to be highlighted in adapted web browsers.
Audio track management in Nudgis now has no secrets for you, so don't hesitate to consult the rest of our articles in the Nudgis section of our documentation.
