In this article, we will look at the different ways you can upload content to your favorite online education video platform ! Simple, intuitive and versatile, the 'Create' function lets you easily upload any type of media, with fine-grained control over the details of the upload and the target.
TABLE OF CONTENT
GENERAL INFORMATION
The 'Create' button appears on every page of your Nudgis instance, and can be accessed from the top right corner of the site. Clicking on it opens a drop-down menu offering three choices :
- 'Record' gives you access to the UbiCast WebStudio, an online application that lets you record content and upload it to your personal channel, or the site's default channel if you don't have a personal channel (this setting is defined by the administration team). This online recorder is a feature in its own right, the details of which are covered in The WebStudio article, which is directly relevant to our subject and which we invite you to discover immediately after reading this. This method remains the simplest and most intuitive way of recording and uploading content into Nudgis
- 'Upload' opens a page allowing you to add media accessible on your workstation, and apply the import settings you want
- 'Advanced' gives access to all the content upload options, being a Youtube video, an embedded code, a livestream, etc.
You will also find information about the remaining storage capacity allocated to your account. This information is represented by a progress bar expressed in percentage:
Your storage space usage corresponds to the size used by all the media for which you are in the list of Speakers and all the media in your personal channel.
If no storage quota has been applied to your account by the site administration team, this information and the progress bar will not be displayed
THE 'UPLOAD' FEATURE
As described above, we will not be discussing the WebStudio any further in these lines, but will concentrate on the other possibilities offered by 'Create', and first of all the 'Upload' function.
As we said, clicking on this option opens a page dedicated to adding media from your workstation, either by using the 'Import from your computer' tool, or by drag-and-dropping your files in the designed field:
The 'Upload' feature allows the user to add videos in bulk
Once your file(s) have been added, a new page opens displaying them in a waiting queue, with several options available:
You can delete any waiting media before upload, add new videos (as many as your storage quota allows you to), choose the destination channel, and set the language of your video. If automated subtitles and AI enrichment
are supported, icons will indicate it next to the selected language.
If videos are uploaded in bulk, the settings made in this page will apply for the whole batch of media
Then, you have four options to select for your video(s):
- 'Import as a draft': it means the videos are uploaded in status 'Unpublished'. It allows the contributor to edit the media before making it public
- Import as '360° videos': Nudgis having the ability to make 360° videos, you can decide to apply the correct settings for this directly when uploading
- 'Enable subtitles generation': based on the chosen language, automated subtitles will be created for your videos
- 'Enrich with AI': allows Nudgis's integrated AI to create either one or all of the following for your uploaded media: Title, Description, Keywords, and a Questionnaire:
Next, the 'Advanced settings' gives you three choices to make for your upload :
- 'Transcode': allows you to create resources of different qualities authorised by the site's transcoding settings, again defined by the administration team.
- 'Detect slides': launches a task to extract Jpeg images from your presentation. These slides can be found and consulted by the viewer in the player, and can also be used as navigation points in the video. Find out more about this feature in the article 'The Nudgis Dynamic Rich Media player'.
- 'Autocam': launches the algorithm designed by UbiCast to produce a dynamic framing of your filmed subject : for example, a teacher moving within a wide shot in a classroom can, thanks to Autocam, be automatically displayed in a tighter frame that will follow the subject as long as it remains within the limits of the wide shot.
Every operation can be performed after the upload if it is not done here
Finally, once you have set your preferences, click on 'Upload files'. Before doing so, you can also check which audience will have access to your videos:
Disabling the 'Transcode file' option cannot coexist with enabling the 'Slide detection' and 'Autocam analysis' options. These last two operations need to be performed on a transcoded file. Launching them after the media has been uploaded will automatically activate transcoding as defined by the transcoding settings, which is under the site administrator's control
Once 'Upload files' is hit, the videos will be uploaded one after another. The grid will display information on the advance of each task, and a link for each media is rendered available once the upload is complete:
Each video is then accessible in the target channel, ready to be edited and published, or already available to your audience depending on your choices at the upload.
THE 'ADVANCED' FEATURE
This function allows the user to unlock several ways of integrating new content to Nudgis. First, you will need to choose the type of media you want to integrate, 'Video' or 'Live':

The other type of media that can be created from the 'Advanced' mode are livestreams. Choosing this option will unlock several way to integrate your livestream event:
