Welcome to this article, which aims to help you quickly decide which type of integration to choose based on your various needs and restrictions.
Moodle
UbiCast plugins
UbiCast plugins are based on LTI 1.0/1.1 and can be installed by following our dedicated article. They are required for certain very useful features, such as integration via a text editor (Atto), creating playlists, submitting assignments and adding channels as Moodle blocks.
Generic integration
If you have restrictions on installing plugins, you will need to use the generic LTI 1.3 integration.
The LTI 1.3 integration uses the manager, a tool that brings together the various options for adding media directly from Moodle (file upload, selecting existing media, recording from the browser)
It is no longer possible to use the LTI 1.0/1.1 integration from Moodle version 4.3 onwards
Other LMSs
For other LMSs, for which we do not have plugins, we recommend using the generic LTI 1.3 integration for the reasons mentioned above. To find out more about the LMSs confirmed with Nudgis, please see the following articles:
- How to integrate Nudgis into Blackboard
- Integrating Nudgis into Brightspace (Coming soon)
- Adding Nudgis to an Open edX platform
We hope that this article has helped guide you in choosing the right LTI integration, and we invite you to read the other articles in the "Moodle and other LMSs" section.
