Do you have a new feature idea to submit, or a business need that we could solve? UbiCast Community is the platform dedicated to improving our solutions! This is where you can share your suggestions with the UbiCast team and the entire user community!
The purpose of this article is to list what we need from you in the description of your idea so that we can effectively assess the impact, the importance of the needs/difficulties raised, and the best solutions to provide.
In the idea submission form, we accept requests in English or French (Other languages will be translated via an automatic translator and we may lose some details)

How to submit an idea?
A/ Opening the idea submission form
Regardless of how you access UbiCast Community (live or via a widget), you must start by clicking on the ‘Submit an idea’ button:
B/ Finding a good title
To find a good title, we recommend that you observe the following rules:
- Be concise: an effective title is generally less than 10 words long
- Focus on the business need: as far as possible, don't try to imagine the technical solutions to be provided, but describe as briefly as possible the extent to which your business is affected by the difficulty encountered
- Stay on topic: if you have several needs, it's best to break them down into several ideas
When you type the title, the form will suggest related ideas. Perhaps you'll find an idea similar to yours, and you can contribute with a vote and/or a comment?
C/ Describing the idea
To ensure that our teams understand your requirements correctly, we need to identify the following information very clearly:
1/ The list of "Personas impacted".
- This could be people in your institution such as a teacher, a student, etc...
- You can specify whether the persona impacted is more specific (e.g. teacher-researcher, student lecturer, visually impaired spectator, etc.).
2/ The list of Pain points
- Describe the business problem to be solved/the missing need and the impact(s) on the personas.
- Even if the point is technical, it's essential to support it with a business reason (a workflow? a legal requirement?...)
3/ The objective in the form of a use case
Example: "As a content creator, I want to share a piece of media or integrate it into my LMS in "Audio/Transcription" mode for accessibility reasons or to help students obtain/read/search the transcript. If a transcript exists, it is displayed."
4/ Suggestions for solutions
If you have any suggestions for solutions, they may help us build workflows and focus on specific uses. This may also be useful for the design process.
We ask you to follow the template below, which you can copy and paste into the idea description field and then edit
