Welcome to this article where we will describe how to control UbiCast recorders directly from Nudgis. This feature allows you to use the remote control functionality available in Miris Manager while utilizing Nudgis authentication.

3/ Use Case: Integrating the control window into a Nudgis media
Configuration
To begin, you will need to create an account on Miris Manager that will be used for authentication. This account must have the permission "Can control all systems". In this example, the account is named recorder-control.
Next, retrieve the API key from the "Extra Information" section and keep it aside, we will use it later in the configuration.
Log in to Nudgis and navigate to Administration > Recorder Control Panel > Recorder Settings.
You must have the global permission "Can edit site settings" to access this page.
Enter the Miris Manager URL and the API key of the account created previously. If your Miris Manager uses a self-signed certificate, uncheck the "Verify certificate" box, then save the page.
Once configured, go to the "Recorder List" tab and share the link or QR code of the specific recorder with your users. It is also possible to embed this link as an iframe in a third-party site or a Nudgis media (check the "Integrable" box for this).
Users must have the "Can control recorders" global permission in order to access the recorder control link.
You can choose several options in this tab:
Complete logout : prevents a user from staying logged in after the recording ends (this ensures a speaker's information does not remain when the next speaker comes into the same room and starts a recording).
Preview player muted : mutes the audio return from the Miris Box (notably to avoid feedback loops if the control is performed on the machine used for the presentation).
Profiles : allows you to limit the recording profiles available to the user on the Miris Box.
Usage
When a user accesses one of the remote control links, they are redirected, after authenticating via Nudgis, to the Miris Capture recording interface (Miris Box or NetCapture). This interface is simplified and hides the configuration tabs.
The user can open the metadata editing window (title, description, etc.)
Then start the recording and/or live stream.
At the end of the recording, you will find the video in the "Publish" tab of the recorder.
If configured in the recording profile, an automatic export can also be performed. Please note that user information is also present in the metadata, in the "Advanced Options" menu, allowing you to export the video directly to the user's personal channel.
Use Case: Integrating the control window into a Nudgis media
Start by creating a video in "Advanced" mode.
Then choose "Video" and "Embed Code", fill in the title, select the destination channel, and paste your embed code.
To generate the embed code, you can use the model below:
<iframe src="YOUR-RECORDER-URL" style="border: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;"></iframe>
Replace YOUR-RECORDER-URL with the link to the control page.
Finally, click "Import". The media will be in the selected channel.
Click on it to access the recorder's control page.
As a bonus, since the side panel is available, you can add instructions for users as comments in the "Timeline" section.
Finally, this embedded control behaves like any other Nudgis media. This means you can integrate it into your LMS to make it available to your users.
