If you want to know everything about the remote management features of your Miris Manager fleet, then this article is for you !
Your Miris Manager account gives you access to a fleet of UbiCast recorders that you can fully monitor and control remotely through the interface. The machines you have access to are defined by your administrator.
If you are an administrator, you can find all the information about the creation of accounts and user permissions in "Create Miris Manager accounts"
The Miris recorders allow you to record and publish online video content with ease, but it is obviously important to set them up according to your needs, whether they are one-off or long-term. From the Miris Manager interface, you will have full control over the connected recorders in your fleet, without leaving your workstation. To find out more about Miris recording solutions, see our "Miris Capture" section.

THE MIRIS MANAGER FLEET
When you log in to your user account, you are taken to the fleet page by default, unless you have changed this setting in your account management, as described in the article "Log in to your Miris Manager". The interface then shows you the machines in your fleet that the administrator has authorised you to control.
By default, the display is in blocks, but you can change this, as we will see below. Several pieces of information are immediately available on each individual capture device:
- Its connection: if the block is surrounded by a highlighted green border, this means that the system is connected to the network and controllable. If the border is red, the system is offline.
- Its ID: This is the name assigned by your administrator, in this case "MBM Bench", followed by the serial number of the Miris capture system. This serial number will be useful when dealing with support agents, to enable them to identify your system more quickly. If no name is assigned to the capture device, it will display the serial number by default.
- Its status: this is the action the machine is currently taking. The default status is "Ready", which means that the machine is on the home page of the interface, in standby. If it is loaded on a configured profile, the profile name will also appear. Other statuses are available, such as "Recording", "Streaming", "Recording and streaming" or "Publishing".
- Its version: you can immediately see which version of the software the machine is in.
Of course, there are other choices available, and first of all click on "Display as lines", which is very useful to have an overview if you have many stations.
You arrive on a view that allows you to embrace the whole fleet while giving new categories of information:
In addition to the information displayed when in blocks presentation, you also see the remaining disk space for each station, as well as the number of messages sent by the station to the interface, which are still waiting to be processed. You also have the date and time of the last status update, information that can be useful for support or for tracing machine activity, for example.
Further filters are possible by pressing "Display settings". This will open a sub-menu full of options :
You can filter the stations in your fleet by connectivity, under or out of support, Miris Capture software version, and select the columns in the "In lines" display from a wide range to show only the information you are interested in. If you click on "Display Settings" from a block view, the options change :
Here you can sort alphabetically by host names and names, or sort online stations from offline ones. You can also change the number of blocks displayed per line, and choose to display the available station information by hovering the cursor over the corresponding block.
Note that this sorting up or down of the stations in your fleet is of course possible in the Lines view, and this by column. Below, we have chosen to filter by "Last status update" in descending order :
Adapt your display to your taste and needs, and once you have made your settings, press "OK". Then choose the machine you wish to take individual control of remotely and click on its name (or block) to access its interface. UPDATE, SUPPORT AND DOCUMENTATION
Keeping your stations up to date is essential to ensure their proper functioning over time. You can do this very easily from Miris Manager. You will only be able to do it in the individual interface of each station, and not all of them at the same time.
Please note that it is highly recommended that updates are performed by or in coordination with the administrator, to keep the fleet uniform on the versions used. Updates can impact your workflow, so it is important to prepare before applying them.
From the home page, click on the machine you wish to update. If a new update is available for the machine, the interface will indicate this with a message highlighted in blue
:
Clicking on "Get changelog" will give you access to the version change log, which we strongly recommend you consult before upgrading. It is important to be aware of the possible changes this will bring to your workflow, and the changelog will help you prepare for this. By clicking on the button, a window appears :
Here you can see the main changes and improvements made to the version. You can also download the PDF file of the changelog by clicking on "Download as PDF", or view it directly in HTML.
To update, simply go to the station's control interface and enter the "About" tab.
There you will find the changelog available in Miris Manager, and be able to apply the update. Just click on the green button, and follow the instructions. Once the station is restarted, the update is applied.
Finally, the last available tab is "Documentation" :
It gives you access to the support tools and to the management of your tickets. By clicking on the tab, you are automatically redirected to the home page of the support site, where you can open tickets, consult it, and access video tutorials. To learn more about how to use our support tools, we invite you to watch this video, that you can also find on the ticket management page :
On the same page, you will also have access to our Help Center, where all the articles about the use of the different UbiCast solutions can be found :
The articles are classified by solution, categories of use, and are available in English and French.
Thank you for reading this article, you now know everything about remote management of your Miris Manager platform! But you can of course control each station individually and trigger all sorts of remote actions from them. To learn more about these possibilities of Miris Manager, it's just below !
