Welcome to your Miris station! In this article, we'll look at how to connect to your Miris box so that you can start recording.
Miris solutions are delivered ready to use, but if this is not the case for you, we recommend that you read the article "Quickstart guide".

3/ THE OTHER CONNECTION METHODS
Miris recorders are accessible via a web browser: in other words, they cannot be controlled by plugging a screen and mouse into the station. You will need a tablet or PC on a desk to be able to connect to your box. The Miris interface is a web interface and is the same for all Miris products (Miris Mini, Miris Plus and Miris Netcapture).
Before arriving at this home page, you will need to connect to this station.
There are several connection methods, depending on your workflow for using Miris. We're going to show you these different connection methods. As part of an authenticated workflow, users will have to authenticate themselves in order to be able to launch a recording, enabling the speaker's metadata (surname, first name, email) to be filled in automatically for the recording.
Authentication with your directory account
This type of authentication will enable people with an account in your directory to start a recording. You can, of course, restrict access to control of the station to certain people in your directory. For example, you can restrict the use of the station to only members of the "Staff" or "Teacher" group.
When you log in, the metadata will be filled in automatically with the values from your directory for the person making the recording. You will be taken to a simplified interface to start recording.
Authentication with Nudgis account
You can also use Nudgis authentication, which means you can use the various authentication services activated on your Nudgis server.
The advantage of using this authentication method is that it will allow you to use another authentication service instead of your directory only. As a reminder the other authentication methods supported by Nudgis include CAS, Azure AD, Azure AD SAML and SAML.
You can connect using the authentication services available on your Nudgis server. Here are all the authentication services supported in Nudgis :
Once you have logged in using one of the authentication service activated on your platform, and like with the authentication directory, you will be taken to a simplified interface to launch your recording :
These two methods, by directory and by authentication service, are the two most widely used ways of connecting to the station. But there are other ways to log in that can suit particular needs for adapted workflows.
The other connection methods
The authentication methods presented here need to be implemented by your Nudgis admin team, so this subject will only be discussed in this chapter for information purposes. If you are an administrator and would like to know more about how to set up these workflows, please consult the articles from the "Software configuration" tab in the "Miris Capture" section.
- The first and most natural authentication method is password identification. As Miris Capture recording systems can be controlled online via their IP address, each machine has a personal password linked to an administrator account. The latter allows a number of operations that could potentially alter the normal operation of the machine, so the credentials are only accessible to members of the site's administration team, identified by UbiCast.
- It is also possible to set up a control link without identification, so you can launch a recording without having to login. In this case, you can use the simplified interface directly to launch your recording, which will be published in a predefined channel.
- The last method is based on QR code identification. It can be generated for easy access to the interface via a smartphone and its use is maintained by the administration team. Find out more about how to use this simple method in this video tutorial.

You now know all the authentication methods for connecting to your Miris station, and the first step has been taken. Now let's dive into it and learn together how to record fun and interactive content using Miris Capture solutions !
