Welcome to this article about how to publish content with your Miris stations.
You've successfully made your first recording with your station, thanks to our article "Recording content" with Miris Capture. In order to share it to a wider audience, you can now publish your recording after selecting "Publish" on the home page.
TABLE OF CONTENT
2/ MIRIS COMPATIBLE PUBLISHING PLATFORMS
Publication page
This takes you to the publication page, which will contain all your recordings. Please note that by default, this list is ordered by creation date, from the most recent to the oldest. You can change this order by clicking on one of the column headings.
Various information is available on this page, including recording title, location, recording creation date, video duration, size and status ("Recording", "Exported", "Empty" meaning ready for publication). Finally, for each recording, at the end of each line, the actions available for the recording according to its status. These actions are accessible via the icons :
- The preview button will open a popup where you can watch your recording with a video player, when your recording is complete.
- The next button appears only if the media has been exported, and will take you to the platform to which the video has been exported via a link :
- The edit button lets you edit the metadata (title, location, speaker's e-mail... ).
- The export button lets you export your recording to a publishing target, or download your video in MP4 format directly to your computer. You can choose your export target from a pre-configured list.
Next, you can select an export channel if it has not been defined in your recording profile. Finally, click on the "Export" button to start transferring your video.
The time taken to upload your asset will depend on the bandwidth available and the size of the video. You'll see an estimate of progress in the media's "Status" column. If necessary, you can cancel the upload by clicking on the button .
To trash a record, use the delete button . It will then no longer appear in the record list. If you wish to remove it permanently from the trash bin, click on the black trash bin in the top right-hand corner, otherwise click on the icon to restore it.
Last but not least, multiple selection is present to enable you to perform an action ("Export selected" or "Trash selected", "Unselect all") on several records at once.
We remind you that recording stations are not backup stations, so please export or delete your recordings periodically. And don't forget to empty your trash bin to keep free disk space.
In this second part, we take a closer look at the publishing targets compatible with Miris Capture. It is dedicated to fleet managers who wish to learn how to set up the various functionalities available with Miris, in addition to downloading your recording in MP4 format, available by default without any configuration.
Miris compatible publishing platforms
Please go from the home page to the "Settings > Configuration > Publishing Platforms" tab to configure your publishing platforms. We support two publishing platforms.
By clicking on the button , you'll have the choice of configuring either a Nudgis or a POD platform.
The UbiCast reference platform is, of course, Nudgis. You'll need to define your Nudgis address and the API key associated with your station. We recommend reading our "Quickstart guide" article to find out how to retrieve this API key.
You can then define whether you want to activate transcoding after sending your recording. We recommend that you enable transcoding so that you can benefit from different video qualities when you play back your recording on your Nudgis server. In this way, the player will adapt the video quality to the user's bandwidth. As a reminder, transcoding will be carried out on your Nudgis Worker server and not on the station. By default, the export will be made to the "Unsorted" channel, but you can define one if required.
Click on the "Save" button to finish configuring your publishing platform.
We also support export to the Pod video file management platform.
The configuration process is more complicated than just retrieving an API key, which is why we've detailed the setup procedure in a video. We invite you to consult this video tutorial "Miris Box configuration for recording with POD video platform" (select English subtitle) to configure your export to the POD platform.
When you have finished configuring your publishing platforms, you can reconfigure them , restore a previously saved version , duplicate or delete a publishing platform by clicking on the desired icon.
Finally, it is also possible to export your media to a third-party platform in MP4 format if it supports the SFTP or FTP transfer protocol (upload-sftp.sh or upload-ftp.sh scripts). These export scripts can be called as soon as you stop recording. This part will be detailed in our article dedicated to recording profile management, as it is an advanced option.
Please note that export is always to one publishing platform, and that it is not possible to export to two different publishing platforms at the same time.
You've successfully published your video on a publishing platform supported by your Miris station! However, your Miris station also allows you to broadcast live over the Internet or tele-amphi. If you're interested, please read our article on this subject! Live, it's your turn!
