Miris stations sometimes require hard disk replacement. We'll walk you through the steps involved to get your system back up and running like new !
Table of Contents
Prerequisites
First of all, you'll need an HDMI screen, a USB keyboard and a USB flash drive with a minimum of 4 GB storage capacity.
Next, you'll need to make a request to the Support team to get the download link to the image of the latest Miris stable version.
Finally, don't forget to check that the downloaded image is correct by verifying the integrity of the file via its fingerprint, if this has been communicated to you.
Miris system installation
Replace the defective disk with the new one.
Create an image on a USB key using software such as Etcher or Rufus with the archive you downloaded earlier.
For Miris version 3.1.3, the installation archive will be “miris-box-installer-hddimg_v3.1.3-eb48bb4.xz”.
You can check the checksum fingerprint, for example with OpenHashTab.
If the fingerprint matches the one transmitted, you can create the image on your USB key.
Here's an example with Rufus software
and Balena Etcher software
Once the USB flash drive has been created, boot to the USB flash drive (by pressing the Esc key), select UEFI: USB from the boot menu and then select Install
from the GRUB menu.
Note that all data on the disk will be deleted.
Confirm the installation on the hard disk by specifying the sda
disk, please note that the keyboard layout will be qwerty.
If the following question is asked, press ‘Ctrl+d’.
If this question is asked, type ‘y’ and then press ‘Enter’.
When the installation is complete, you will get this message
You can disconnect your USB flash drive and press Enter to restart the station.
Initial setup
When the installation is complete, you can redo the initial configuration by following this documentation. If you have a backup of the station's software configuration, you can restore it by bypassing through all the initial configuration steps.
Please do not use the software configuration of another station to restore your software configuration in order to avoid conflicts between your stations.
You have reinstalled your Miris system, which is now operational again. Now let's get straight to the heart of the matter and learn together how to record fun and interactive content using Miris Capture solutions !
